Commercial Epoxy Flooring Salt Lake City: Shops, Showrooms & Kitchens
Retail floors, showrooms, auto shops, restaurant kitchens and offices across Salt Lake County, coated with the epoxy or urethane-cement system that suits how each space is used.
Commercial Floors Across Salt Lake County
From Salt Lake City down to Draper, the installer coats the floors businesses actually work on: retail stores and showrooms, auto shops and service bays, restaurants and commercial kitchens, offices, and warehouses. Each one asks something different of the concrete, so each gets its own system.
Most owners want the same two things: a schedule that fits around customers, and a surface that is quicker to clean at closing time. A seamless epoxy floor suits a showroom or office, slip-resistant additives go where floors get wet, and urethane cement is the commercial system for kitchens that run hot and wet.
Salt Lake winters matter too. NOAA's airport normals show about 52 inches of snow a year, the streets get salted, and customers walk the slush and magnesium chloride straight through the front door. Entrances and vestibules therefore get a chemical-resistant topcoat with slip-resistant additives. Coatings also have to go down within the product's temperature range, so install days are planned with the season in mind. Forklifts or heavy equipment on the floor? Our industrial floor coatings page covers those.
An older commercial slab often comes with patches, an old sealer or a coating that has started to let go. That old material is removed by diamond grinding or shot blasting, cracks are repaired and the slab is checked for moisture before anything new goes down, which is what keeps a coating from letting go later.
Commercial spaces the installer coats:
- Restaurants and commercial kitchens
- Retail stores and showrooms
- Clinics and healthcare spaces
- Offices and lobbies

Why Businesses Coat Their Floors
Faster cleanup, better footing in snow season and a floor that looks the part, put down on a schedule you agree to.
Schedule
Planned With You
Tell us when the space has to stay open. The schedule is agreed with you before work starts, and a bigger floor can be split into sections so part of it stays in use.
Seamless
Easier to Keep Clean
No grout lines, no open pores. Grease, sticky spills and tracked-in grit stay on top of a seamless floor, so closing-time cleanup is quicker in a kitchen, a stockroom or on the sales floor.
Spills
Stands Up to Spills
Salty slush at the entrance, fryer oil, degreasers, brake fluid in a service bay: a chemical- and stain-resistant coating keeps them on the surface, where they wipe away.
Traction
Grip Where Floors Get Wet
Slip-resistant additives can go into the coating wherever floors get slick: a vestibule during a snowstorm, the kitchen line, the door of a service bay.
Light
A Brighter Space
A high-gloss topcoat bounces light around a showroom or stockroom, and a solid or flake color can follow your brand. Matte and semi-gloss are there if you want less shine.

Metallics and Color Matching
Metallic epoxy gives a showroom or restaurant floor depth and movement, and a solid color can be matched from a photo. Polyaspartic systems are available too.
What sets the price →How a Commercial Floor Gets Done
Five steps, from the free site visit to a floor your customers walk on.
Consultation & Site Assessment
Someone from the crew walks the space with you, looks at the slab, any old coating and the entrances that take winter slush, measures it, and asks when the business can spare the floor. Schedule yours free.
Choosing the System
The system follows the room: urethane cement for a commercial kitchen, flake for a store or office, metallic or a solid color for a showroom, with slip-resistant additives where the floor gets wet. Bigger floors can be scheduled in sections.
Surface Preparation
The concrete is diamond ground, or shot blasted where an old coating has to come off, and cracks and chipped areas are repaired. The slab is also checked for moisture before anything is applied.
Multi-Layer Application
The crew puts down the base coat, the color and any flake, then a clear topcoat chosen for your traffic, in matte, semi-gloss or high-gloss. On a sectioned job, one area is finished while the rest stays open.
Final Walkthrough & Handoff
You walk the finished floor with the crew and get a cleaning routine for your kind of business, including how to lift salt film off the entrance in winter, plus a date for full traffic.

Commercial Epoxy Flooring Questions
Answers for Salt Lake County owners and managers planning a business floor.
Every commercial floor is quoted per project after a free site visit, because the square footage, the slab's condition, the repairs, the system and the schedule all move the number. There is no charge for the visit or the estimate.
The factors behind any floor price are laid out in our Salt Lake City cost guide.
Yes. The schedule is agreed with you before any work starts, and a larger floor can be coated in sections so part of the space stays open.
Total time depends on the size, the repairs and the system, and the timeline comes with your estimate.
Yes, if the system suits it. Commercial kitchens run hot and wet, so urethane cement with slip-resistant additives is the usual choice, and a seamless surface leaves no grout lines for grease to collect in.
If your health inspector has floor requirements for the space, bring them to the site visit so they are part of the plan.
There is no single number; traffic, the system and the cleaning routine decide it. An office lobby wears far more slowly than an aisle that sees hand trucks all day.
Once the topcoat wears thin in the busiest lanes, it can often be recoated without removing the whole floor.
